Ripley Grier Studios, 520 Eighth Avenue (36th & 37th Sts.), 16th Floor (16L), New York City –

Our fellow member (and recent Magician of the Year recipient) Joshua Jay has agreed to deliver a new lecture for Parent Assembly. This will include unpublished pieces as well as the routines he is known for. You’ll see an unpublished “tribute” routine to recently departed master magician David Roth, as well as card routines for parlor audiences, and the sleight-of-hand that has garnered Jay worldwide recognition in our industry. Jay will also discuss his latest publication, How Magicians Think, which is a book of essays on the art of magic available at bookstores worldwide.

Safety Requirements
Please note that in order to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance we will strictly enforce the following safety requirements. Everyone in attendance will need to be fully vaccinated and proof of vaccine as well as a government-issued photo ID will be required for admittance. Masks must be worn in the venue during the entire event.
Guests can present proof of vaccination via an official governmental mobile app or website containing vaccination information, or a photo or physical copy of a vaccination card. New York State residents, or anyone who received a COVID-19 vaccine, may present proof through the use of the Excelsior Pass.

“Fully vaccinated” means the performance date you are attending must be:

  • at least 14 days after your second dose of an FDA or WHO authorized two dose COVID-19 vaccine, or
  • at least 14 days after your single dose of an FDA or WHO authorized single dose COVID-19 vaccine.

Membership in Parent Assembly includes more than 10 magic events per year (lectures, talks, shows, interviews, etc) as well as a separate monthly workshop, access to our growing video library, our monthly newsletter and more. The admission fee for the lecture may be applied toward Parent Assembly annual dues for attendees who join the Assembly. For more info on membership contact Steve Okulewicz at: [email protected]
