First of all, thank you for all those who supported our 113th Salute to Magic honoring Dick Brookz and Dorothy Dietrich! Special thanks to Guy Crowl (2nd VP) and Dr. Joel “Batman” Zaritsky(Society of American Magicians Past National President for helping with the show at the last minute.    Guy worked back stage to make sure the performers were ready to dazzle the audience with their talents!  Joel filmed the show for us with very little notice!
The past few years have been hard on us all and the Salute was meant to help us all get back to enjoying live in person Magic in NYC again! For those of you who were not ready to enjoy the in person show or could not come to the show, I am planning on making the video available to members so stay tuned for further announcements or just come to the October 7th meeting and you can be the first to get the details on accessing the show…

After our general meeting, SAM Parent Assembly #1 will have a special show and lecture from a fellow compeer. Bjorn Hanson will present the close-up show he performed during his most recent week at The Magic Castle in January 2020, and then will teach the material.  Refreshments will be served.  Bjorn’s lecture notes will be complimentary to members of Parent Assembly. If you are not a member, this is your chance to join without having to travel to the Magic Castle to enjoy Bjorn’s talent!

The Pierre is a grand old luxury hotel, and there will be some original “golden age of magic” posters and other magic history items on display to make the evening a bit like seeing a show at The Magic Castle.

Friday, October 7 Magic Performance and Lecture by our member, Bjorn Hanson
