Remembering Earl “Presto” Johnson, October 29th, 1932 – April 16th, 2009


THE MAY 6TH, 2022 PARENT ASSEMBLY MEETIN WILL BE AN LIVE IN PERSON MEETING

Friends – the Parent Assembly of the S.A.M. is holding a free in-person tribute to magician Earl Presto Johnson on Friday evening, May 6. 

The event will feature appearances by some of Presto’s close friends, including Chris Capehart, Mal Cross, Wesley James, Dick Brooks, Dorothy Dietrich, and Carl Albright, with an appearance virtually by Jamy Ian Swiss and will include remembrances and stories, videos of Presto, performances of his magic, and more.

It will be held at Pearl Studios in midtown Manhattan as well as broadcasted live through social media on Zoom.

Presto was extremely influential to the generation of magicians in the New York area who knew him from the 1940s through the 2000s.  He passed away in 2009 and was known for his innovations, generosity and was widely respected  throughout the magic community. 

The evening’s program will also be open to nonmembers of the Parent Assembly. Nonmembers of PA1 who wish to attend should complete the RSVP form below. Although the event is free, reservations are required. 

This will be an entertaining and informative event that will also help add to the legacy of a deserving talent.:
