Our next meeting will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 7:15 p.m. at the new home of Fantasma Magic.
Fantasma is now located at 213 West 35th St- # 401 (Between 7th and 8th Avenues). The meeting itself will begin at 7:15.
Thee after meeting event is a lecture by Xavier Spade at 8 p.m.!
Xavier is described as a sleight-of-hand whiz. He is the proprietor of Lost Art Magic, which has released magic effects by Eric Jones, Woody Aragon, Kainoa Harbottle and many others, including Spade’s own work on The Pass.
This will be a chance to bone up on some hard core card magic. Don’t miss it! As usual, the lecture is free to Parent Assembly members, $20 to visiting magicians.
We have also begun to finalize our plans four annual show, the Salute To Magic!
It will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 7:30 PM
Producer David Kaye announced that this year the show will return to Manhattan from Queens where it had been held for the past few years. The venue is The Haft Theater at FIT College, 227 West 27th St. between 7th & 8th Avenues.
Tickets go on sale this Thursday, March 1st. Past President Ken Ferst ([email protected]) has agreed to act as ticket chairman once again, so contact him for reservations. And of course, there is a discount available for Parent Assembly members.More info will be available on our website and in e-mail blasts.
Performers already scheduled include:
Mike Bent(comedy magic),
Harrison Greenbaum (The Illusionists, America’s Got Talent, Last Comic Standing),
Keith Nelson (variety/plate spinning),
and Elliott Zimet (modern illusions).
