Dear Compeer!
Friday evening will be our April meeting, at the new Fantasma address. 213 West 35th St- # 401 (Between 7th and 8th Avenues).
Meeting at 7:15, after meeting lecture at 8.
Harrison Kramer, our 2nd VP and entertainment chair, has this to say about the lecture:
“This Lecture is going to be incredible. One of a kind fusion of magic, theater, and DIY robotics that has to be seen! DO NOT MISS THIS!
Mario “the Maker Magician” Marchese is a performer and inventor who creates his own props. He is known for his dedication to the Maker Movement and S.T.E.A.M. initiatives and his clever integration of DIY electronics and robotics into his performance. Despite his use of cutting edge technology, he presents in a very stylized, vaudeville-inspired, punk rock way. Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin for the modern age, with a mad inventor twist.
Mario has made appearances on Sesame Street and NBCUniversal’s Sprout Channel. He has taken home numerous awards at Maker Faires worldwide. He is also the subject of award-winning indie documentary film, Building Magic. Most recently, Mario was privileged to be a part of the creative team behind David Blaine’s first ever North America tour.”
Then, April 14th (a week from Saturday) will be our annual Salute to Magic, the 109th Salute we have presented.
Producer and First VP David Kaye announced that John Bundy and Morgan (performing three never before seen illusions)and Krystyn Lambert have been added to this year’s show. (Krystyn had top billing on the hit touring show, The Supernaturalsts and performances in Criss Angel’s BeLIEve in Las Vegas-she was also featured in the award-winning documentary, Make Believe.)
